My expectations over the Haunting of Bly Manor, following the success and critical acclaim of Haunting of Hill House, were sky high. This season was different, in a lot of ways. But the two things that made it memorable were the absolutely stunning performance and depth of Hannah Grose, interpreted by lesbian actress T’Nia Miller. And the love story between Dani and Jamei. The Au pair and the gardener.
A love story that, in the last episode of the season, became the heart of it, making the show truly memorable.
When my friend @thislesbianshit shared the song “Let Me Down Slowly – Alec Benjamin” because the writer for the finale used it for inspiration, I couldn’t help but try to do an edit for it. The lyrics are really perfect.
This night is cold in the kingdom
I can feel you fade away
From the kitchen to the bathroom sink and
Your steps keep me awake
Cold skin, drag my feet on the tile
As I’m walking down the corridor
And I know we haven’t talked in a while
So I’m looking for an open door
